I am having difficulty pinpointing our house on Rathdown Road in Grangegorman. At one point I was given a map of Cork! How will we know our codes are the right ones? At any point will we be sent them from somewhere central like the Post Office?
At the moment there is no Post Code. You can allocate yourself a Loc8ate Code as the Loc8ate website. This will pinpoint your location to a very high degree of accuracy. If the Government proceed with a Post Code system it will either be to building level similar to Loc8ate or an area level similar to the UK Post Code. The latter approach will not be particularly good at locating you house to teh building level.
